BBC News - MPs' expenses watchdog chief resigns

BBC News - MPs' expenses watchdog chief resigns: "A senior official brought in to oversee the new MPs' expenses system has quit his post, saying he left the job for the sake of his 'health and sanity'."

Since MPs are immune from any law on bullying under parliamentary privilege, this is a smart move by the troughers. Get rid of the people responsible for stopping the cash and send a message to his colleagues and replacement.

Google Reader (248): "Multilingual doctor of mathematics who lost Broxtowe seat in May is thought to be first MP on unemployment benefit

He speaks six languages, has a PhD in maths, and spent 13 years in parliament. But despite his glittering CV, Nick Palmer, former Labour MP for Broxtowe, has revealed that he applied last month for unemployment benefits."

Once you've sacked them, you've still go to pay for them.

New Zealand minister paid for porn on government credit card - Telegraph

New Zealand minister paid for porn on government credit card - Telegraph: "A former New Zealand government minister has admitted paying for pornographic films with his ministerial credit card."

Not a surpise.

I'm shocked we didn't get MPs claiming visits to Shepherd's Market in London as consultantcy.

KIng Coal to King Blag

BBC News - Mineworkers' union still funding Scargill's London flat: "The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) is to debate its continued funding for a London flat for former president Arthur Scargill, who retired in 2002.

Payments understood to run into tens of thousands of pounds a year have been made for rent and running costs on the apartment in the Barbican since 1982."

All paid for from the little 'Union Modernisation Fund'. A nice little bit of money laundering.

Labour government pays the unions to modernise.

Unions pay Labour cash to pay them modernisation funds.

In the interim, money gets diverted to pay for expensive city flats for Scargill

Tut Tut. When its so easy making money out of the Labour wonks, getting caught was stupid.

1. When creaming it, don't splash the cash.
